Not being a woman I'm not sure I have the right to say anything, but I feel the same way. "Sex and the City" has always marketed itself to women as being for them, by them, and just like them, yet it wallows in and viciously glorifies every single negative stereotype men have about women. I've watched the TV show and I've got to admit that occasionally it's very funny, but that's only if you're choosing to view it as what it is: broad comedy about shallow, selfish, vain people; a Clueless for fortysomethings. The show doesn't market itself that way though. No, it's brilliant viewing for smart, sophiticated women and I really am disappointed that more women aren't smart or sophisticated enough not to fall for it.
