1) How did you get started with faire? Why do you still do it?
I went to my first faire at Black Point when I was 6 years old. I made a plaster mask and saw the Queen. I made a fan which said"God Save The Queen" and got to shoot a cross bow(Which I accidentally almost shot my father with.In the 70's they used really arrows!) I LOVED it! I wanted to do it but I was a kid and my folks weren't into it. Then we went to Europe and I got to see REAL Castles and armor and again was fascinated by the history. Move forward to Nov. 1998, I am at work in Lane Bryant when some customers are talking about their purchases. I notice the man's shirt and ask"Did you get that at a fair?" He said,"No, my wife and I are part of a guild and we work fair." Which lead into me exchanging info with the couple and them telling me about being in St. Max's.(It was Anna and Michael Quan BTW) They said they would let me know when their first stitch and bitch would be and such. Never heard from them. So in Jan of 1999, I am hanging out at Draggin' Bytes when Albert says he is having a get together at his house with his guild who are looking for new members and would I like to come over. Okay. I meet Stacey and the gang and they seem nice. I read the guild handbook which Albert loaned me and I am sold on being Italian and not a care about being German. I have been to Florence and know where most of this guild is getting it's focus. So I audition and am still here many years later. Why do I still do it? Some days I don't know, then I go to an event like Calaveras and get to tell kids about being Italian and watch them fall in love with the Renaissance and faire like I did all those years ago. It is also like an extended family whom I chose to spend time with verses have to be with.

2) It seems a though you're kinda floating through life. Do you plan to try to settle down, or keep going wherever it takes you?
Well at the moment, I am just floating. I have been married and divorced and lived with a guy for 5+ years which were great and crap all at the same time(I am sure he could say the same). I am at a point in my life where IF I find the right guy and the stars aline and such I will settle down, but right now I am just enjoying being able to do anything and have fun. I would love to get married again, but right now it will have to be floating.

3) How has being a member of Sta Maria affected you outside of faire?
Outside of faire... well I have meet some great people and am glad to call then friend. I have built relationships that will last as long as they need to and I know there are people out there who really are great friends and if I ever need them or they need me, we have each others backs. I do also know that there are times when I can't say anything right as people assume the worst and I rarely do, so I seem to stick my foot in my mouth more than most. I ask questions and forget about the lowest common denominator, as I hate it, and then people go where I never think they will go. It has helped me realize I am more guileless than I knew and more gullible than I ever thought. It has also shown me that I am a strong woman who cares and who can get things done.

4) You're on a long airplane flight to God-knows-where. Who (living or dead, real or fictional) would you want sitting on either side of you? Why?
I think I would chose Elizabeth I and ask her about how she did all that she did with out going crazy with self doubt. And on the other side, Either my mother at age 21 so I could see who she was when she had me for a year and chose to move us across the country OR My Grand mother Sally Germain as I am named after and and never knew her. She did a great many things for her town and community and I wish I had known her.

5) Where do you see yourself (personally and professionally) in five years?
I see myself as being financially self sufficient, possible married(again those stars and such), and just building on where I am now. I used to plan for all that, but I just don't have it in me any more. So far everything I have planned has turned out wrong, so no set plans. Just enjoy what life has to show me for now.
