Today is a friend's birthday. They have a strong magical feel about them that I have noticed for years. Some days it draws me in. Other days it surprises me that it is there. They do their work as one does in secret or in private times when no one will notice.

There are days I wish we were closer just to talk magical philosophy and views.

Happy birthday. I know you are just lurking as you do.

Things have been interesting of late. My part time job is getting busier with iPhone apps in beta and a deck to come out in the future as well as myself teaching a class. Was supposed to do it in March but one of my co-teacher's broke her leg. So the class is on hold for now. We are hosting a Tarot Cafe SF however on April 6 and then again April 20 at Borderlands Cafe in San Francisco! And I will be speaking and starting the discussion group then it is open fun to share decks and spreads as the people there like. I am a touch nervous but it will be fun. I am looking forward to the bi-weekly meetup of Tarot enthusiasts and seeing the other decks that people treasure. I need to come up with a topic for the first meeting though. It will happen.

What else? BayCon is on and happening May 28-31 and I have a full team. I am working on scheduling and making sure everyone gets one evening off to play as ConOps is open 24 hours a day once the con starts. I have 6 people as well as myself. I hope to have Sunday off myself. I will be at the hotel Wed. after work and leave Tuesday morning to head to my office in San Francisco. It should be a ton of fun. I have friends planning wonderful costumes, and I have ribbons to hand out as well. I am trying to think about if I want to dress up for any of the "Themes" my friends are talking about, but the reality is will I have the time? I don't know. I don't work these things to hang out really... okay a little but mostly to work with people I like and put on a good show.

My Day job is going ok. I feel like I need to do more there but I am not completely sure what else I can do to get clients. I have called a ton of stores, corporations and individuals. I have sent sample DVDs and have gotten some new clients but it is getting harder to do. While the movies we make are revolutionary, DVDs are not as popular as they used to be. Still trying to keep finding new clients.

I am doing a new venture this year which is making little crochet animals to sell at WonderCon. Zthey will not be at the table I am actually working though as I am working for KatGirl Studios and Hell Has Found Me and the animals will be at Tri-Tail studios table(I think that is the name the ladies are using). If it isn't I will post the table to find them at later. But I can make one on the way to work and one on the way back as I ride BART (public transit) and it is just enough time to make the pieces needed. I hope they go over well. It is different for me.

well it is that time... bed is calling me.

More sooner I hope.

Today's Card: The Empress (from the Tarot of a Moon Garden deck)

In this card the Empress is represented with butterfly wings. She
sits atop a cornucopia overflowing with all of nature's goodness from
all the seasons. In her hand she holds her staff and gazes upon the
crystal ball on top of it.

The Empress card represents how our personal power comes from
learning to shift our perspective. Learn to focus on abundance and
opportunity rather than on limit and lack. View the past struggles
in life as what allowed you to grow wings, rather that what will
always hold you back.

The butterfly wings speak of metamorphosis. In order for a butterfly
to be born the caterpillar must transform. The process is can be
scary, and we are called upon to move from the familiar to the new
and unknown. It is the only way we can stretch and grow and hope to
reach our fullest potential.

The Empress speaks of creativity as well and traditionally is symbolic
of maternal energy, whether it be actual pregnancy/child rearing or
merely being "pregnant" with good creative ideas and ingenuity. This
is a good time to look for creative solutions to challenges, to use
your energy to create something new, to benefit others, etc.

Spend time today focusing on gratitude and looking for new
opportunities. Celebrate simple abundance and you will find your
life transforms right before your eyes.
rosered32: (triple goddess)
The Ten of Chalices card suggests that you should celebrate the completion of a journey, transformation or commitment. It's time to back up the ones you love while giving them roots and wings. You can expect the collective sensation of having finally made it as one big happy family. Perhaps the most important lesson to be gleaned from this sense of fulfillment is to simply enjoy being in the moment. Honor and recognize your inner child through spontaneous and passionate expressions. You know that home, happiness and family are where the heart is. This sense of pride and joy may come from a focus on common values, a romantic desire sated or a dream achieved. Either way, you have an opportunity to share the love, express gratitude, expand your relationship and appreciate the stormy road that might have led to this renewal and wholeness.
rosered32: (Default)
So what can I say? Oh the move... well... we had more than a ton of people. I was so surprised how everyone pitched in and just helped us like mad. They were great. I can't wait to show everyone the house when it is unpacked and organized. I have no computer up and running yet but I get to use the one here where I babysit and at the office occassionaly to look at my LJ and Myspace, but I just don't have enough time to post at work and I only babysit when needed. So until the house computers are up and running you only get little snippets of life from me.

TTG is going well. We did SF Fair and had an amzing time. We had 5 readers and we kept ourselves pretty busy which was good considering there were two other reader booths there which were not supposed to be doing card readings but other such "mystical" things. Oh well, we still did well and we got a compliment from a parton who went to one of the other readers and then to us and said she liked our readings better! I also so the cutest kid there dressed in a small ber suit... he kept smiling at me while I read for his parents individulally and finally I asked his name. It was Marcello! I had to laugh. I went and talked to Adam about his "son" running around and who was it's mother. It was silly. Adam had no idea what I was going on about. It was okay. I had fun at the event even though I missed out on some great gigs with deaths and marriages and such. I did however get to attend and read at Kendra's knighting. I was too choked up to say all the wonderful things about her I have felt over the years, but I did tell her the night before so I hope she knows. Also I was asked to break the engagment with "Marcello" and finally marry him. We will be doing that at Folsom. Heehee... I hope Dona Cristina and the "married" ladies help make this a fun gig. We have put it off for a long time I know... ah well we knew it would happen someday Marcello.

As to RL, things are going well. Drew and I are making plans and trying to move forward in life. Luth is being luthianish and things are okay. We have many plans to share later when they become closer to real. For now know that we are happy and things are moving forward in a happy direction.

I have been doing the check up on friends on MySpace and saw that some one has come out of hidding. I know we will proabably never speak, but I wish them well and hope they know they are cared about. I know that Higher Spirits are watching out for them.

What else can I say? Life is good. Must go stitch now. I have blankets to finish, boats as well and I am ready to get this show on the road. =)
rosered32: (3of swords)
Today's Card: Four of Swords

In this card we see the man lying asleep with the 3 swords overhead.
He is also within the walls of his church/temple where he is secure
and safe from all harm. In this place he is able to remove himself
from the circumstances represented by the swords, to travel within
where he may better hear the Divine Guidance he has sought in this
safe haven. We also must be willing to set aside outer circumstances,
to rest, and come into this place of tranquility
where our wisdom lies waiting for our discovery of it.

When we continually worry about our problems they are worsened
because of the extra energy directed towards them. Where thoughts go
so does energy, so if you need a break from your troubles, take some
quiet time for yourself and leave the challenges behind for a bit.
You'll find your answers come more clearly.

On the other hand, this card reminds us if we have spent too much time
"at rest" and not facing certain issues that needs to be addressed as
well. Sometimes this card has a "let's get it over with" so we can
put it to rest meaning as well ;)
rosered32: (3of swords)
Today's Card: Two of Cups

In this card we see the man and woman exchaning ideas and sharing the
chalices which represent collected wisdom/knowledge. The symbol
above represents higher wisdom pouring itself down and becoming
available to them when they work in the spirit of cooperation and
trust.

The man and woman in this card are symbolic of not only our
relationships with others, but in maintaining balance within:
mental/emotional balance and health, faith/hope in our self and our
Divine connection. Balance and working to achieve harmony are
represented here.

Communication, unity, and sharing resources are the primary themes of
this card.

Today, take time to communicate clearly, and to really listen to what
others have to say. You will find that cooperation now benefits you
later. This card also reminds us that everyone we meet is our
teacher.

Work today to make your surroundings more harmonious also, sometimes
just the act of straightening or reorganizing brings a sense of
harmony and balance to the home/work which allows ideas and creative
energy to flow more freely.
rosered32: (Default)
Today's Card: The High Priestess

In this card we see the woman poised between opposing sides of a
situation, she sits with the book of wisdom in her lap, and the moon
which represents emotions lies beneath her feet. She appears serene
and detached, looking silently within for her answers, her intuition
and keen sense of logic serve her well. You won't pull the wool
over this queen's eyes. She reminds us of the importance of
detaching from issues before making important decisions, the need to
take careful, decisive action, rather than engage in reaction. She
doesn't become cold or emotionless, but her emotions stay at her feet,
which allows her to still be empathetic without becoming overwhelmed.

The Priestess is the card of Divine Feminine Energy. She represents
intuition, the sub-conscious, "hidden" knowledge/wisdom, ability to
connect directly to your "higher self", the balance between
polarities, and personal power. Today trust your instincts/intuition to
guide you through any stressful or uncertain moments.

The Priestess speaks of learning to trust ourselves and our ability
to co-create our destiny, and also faith in our higher power. She
reminds us that we are always in control of our lives through the
choices we make. No matter what happens in the outer world, within
us is a place of power and peace, where each of us can connect with
Divine guidance and gain more insight into the deeper meaning/lessons
behind our circumstances.

Just a bit of trivia after pulling today's card ;). Did you know that
the 31st of this month is going to be the very rare "Blue Moon"? When
there are two full moons within the same calendar month that is what
is known as a blue moon. It doesn't happen often, hence the popular
phrase "once in a blue moon" :) Have a fun day!
Christin

Today's Card: The Moon

This card symbolizes deceptions, depression, and all that is
associated with them. The scorpion rises up out of the water
(emotions) and is poised to strike. Often our emotions and feelings
of being overwhelmed can sting like this scorpions bite, without much
warning. It is in these moments we are called to remember the power
we have to chose how we act/react.

Our power lies in our ability to carefully choose our actions, what
we will believe etc. There is a saying that says "To worry is to
pray for what you don't want". When we focus on hardship we bring
more of the same to our lives through the law of attraction. Learn
to take charge of your reactions and don't be overcome by
circumstances. This too shall pass.

Be a good friend today to someone in need (perhaps even yourself) who
needs an objective person to listen and empathize. Use your
emotional/intuitive side to benefit others. If you feel someone is
in need of something you can provide aid that person. If you are in
need of some down time to clear your head, take some time for
yourself to do just that.

Take anyone's overreactions or overemotional displays today with a
grain of salt. We all have those days where our emotions get the
better of our sound judgment. Be careful you aren't the one
overreacting too ;).
rosered32: (Default)
The Six of Chalices card suggests that my power today lies in self-consciousness. I am not alone. It's not too late to make a fresh start or to pursue my hearts desire. The fountain of my youth or my Holy Grail is revealed in the simple pleasures and gestures that are unaware of their own beauty, connection, and power. I am empowered by nostalgia or past perceptions and my gift is rejuvenation.

And that is a great way to describe the day. I went to Pagan Pride day with Tarot-To-Go today and The man. We set up the pavillion and he went off to do his thing(GOB and Comic relief as well as go draw) and I got the booth rolling and we did a total of 32 reading between 5 readers! Pretty great considering it was a very small event as it almost didn't happen! The city had the park at MLK ave and Milian closed off and almost didn't allow it to happen but it went on! We did it as a street fair. There was not to many venders, but there were plenty of Pagans! We gave out flyers about our coming event as well and give away tickets to it during the raffle.(What event? You may be wondering... World Tarot Day may 26, 2007  )

But I digress...

Today was great and of course I got to causally chat up my not-so-secret crush, Uncledark, who was promoting The Ancient Way Feastival(http://www.ancientways.com/node/14). And as always dreamy and sweet and super smart!(When I had the courage to chat with him and not feel super foolish, it was informative and entertaining... *blush*)The Man just pointed out "It is okay ... I could take him and Doogie Howier" Now that is a sight... Uncledark and Doogie... hmmm not so yummy as The Man and Uncledark at once ... *blush* uhm... stopping now! *kisses to you both*

Saw a ton of people too! Sami406 and jmdg, James, UncleDark and his lady, Glenn Turner, and so many more I just can't recall. It was great. It is nice to see all these happy Pagans celebrating what they believe and not having to hide what and who they are. And to be honest it is just nice to see smiling people who are excepting of different beliefs and NOT stopping ANY ONE(Including Christians ) for talking together. Nice to live here on the "Left" Coast some times.

Well I am off to bed to sleep and then go to The Man's folks for Mother's Day. My mom is visiting my grandma in Niagara Falls but they both got cards so...Phone calls tomorrow!

Have a terrific rest of your weekend and CALL YOUR MOTHERS if you have one or the other important women in your life who happen to be moms. They are pretty awesome.

Three of Wands

The Three of Wands is a card of choices, and learning to recognize
potential rather than only seeing obstacles.

Here we see the man leaning on one of his staffs, the others have
been left behind. He is moving out of comfort zones and into the
new and unknown. The desert he is crossing through is barren, and
the mountains are in the distance. He can view this from different
perspectives: One is that it is risky, and he might not make it.
The other is that it is flat and empty, so there are no obstacles
present and he can reach the mountain if he keeps moving.

The sunny skies indicate that his best opportunities will come from
a willingness to accept new growth in his life. The red of his
cloak indicates personal power and energy, it surrounds him in a
protective way, allowing him to adopt the pioneering spirit he needs
to move forward and act on new ideas.

The only other choice is for him to remain still, but the past
leaves nothing to sustain him, and the future depends entirely upon
his decision to act or not act. In this case, movement becomes
necessary to affect positive change. There are times when we must
encourage ourselves to leave the comfort of what we have known, so
that we might progress into a new and better way of living.

It was great to realize that this year was my 7th year at PantheaCon and it brought my con going to a full circle....

rosered32: (Cookie any one?)
The Two of Chalices card suggests that you should rely on and be receptive to genuine love, empathy and emotional support. Your appreciation, sacrifice and pursuit could be rewarded with a meeting of the minds. Be prepared to seal the deal with a kiss or a toast, or to make a major decision regarding your relationship or love life -- one that could affect your level of commitment or domestic happiness. By meeting each other on common ground as equals or by sharing your feelings and intentions honestly and without fear or restraint, you can come to an understanding, see both sides or initiate a romantic transformation that may be mirrored in your partner's eyes.

Part of me sees the romantic aspects of this but another part of me is seeing the friendship aspect of this card and trying to focus on that as it is weighing on my mind right now. I am hoping to work through my issues that Imay just be imagining or being over sensitive too... that is the hope any way.

More later. Now back to work!!!*cracking of imaginarey whip!*
rosered32: (3of swords)
Today's Card : The Lovers

The Lovers card is a major arcana card that centers strongly around
desires. This card warns us to let our
heart/emotions cloud our judgment! This is a good time to take
inventory of your life and find out if you are truly going for your
hearts desires, or are you stagnating? Are you settling for less than
you deserve? or are you unsure of what will bring you fulfillment
ultimately?

Today's card asks us to find our true passion, a cause or life path
that really lights a fire in our soul... Seek this path out now, this
is a good time. You may just "stumble" accross something unexpected
that will start you on a whole new mission :)

The Lovers card also talks to us about unions, not only with our
spouses or significant others, but with ourselves... what can you do
to be a better friend to yourself? Remember that soulmate staring
back in the mirror at you every morning, and see that your basic needs
are being fulfilled as well.

Lovers also speaks of sensual pleasures, take a long walk in nature, a
bubble bath, drink a nice blend of coffee or tea... let your senses
come alive today and enjoy the beauty of your life and all the wonders
of the World that come in the seemingly smallest things. Take nothing
for granted today, and you will be guaranteed an experience to
remember...

I think they are both correct actually... I am making big changes to my life and I am working on my relationships with others and The Man. So it will be interesting to see how the Tower effects the rest.

My Love Rocks! Last night when waiting for [livejournal.com profile] therealluthien we went into Barnes and Noble to just hang and look at books.
While browsing the discount section we found The Shakespeare Oracle! Basicly it is Shakespeare influneced Tarot Cards, but they are so cool! Each of the major aracna are Shakespearean Characters and things from their play, poem, etc. And just in time for the Linden Street Fair! I love it!

The Man rocks my world!
rosered32: (me as Francine!)
So Last night was my tarot "class" with Douglas, Kathy and Denise. We got to chat a bit and look over our book Tarot For Yourself. We talked about the life chart and how you can plot the cards that effect your year and what cycle you are on, etc. Kathy was having trouble figuring it out, but she was using two different ways of using the charts. Denise, who was new to the group, was a kick in the pants. She didn't know if she like the rolling dice to figure out cards method Douglas and I learned at BATS, but she got "cards" that pertained to her current life situation. Funny stuff. I had Douglas read for me and as I thought it was pretty accurate. Not as dead on as last time, but this sounded more like a reading about work so it is still vague for me.

We are having a blast with it and we are planning on going to the Tarot Tea in Sept. and Kathy and Denise are planning to go to The Thalassa Land Method Of Tarot class in Sept at Ancient Ways. Douglas and I went in March and then to BATS in April, hence our starting this class. Thalassa is a kick. She just is. If you want to know about the Tarot she is a great resource. She has been working with the tarot for 20+ years and she is open to many people's ideas about what the cards could be saying. She Doesn't HAVE to be the only one right, which is great.

Okay so here are some web sites if you want to know more:
Ancient Ways: http://ancientways.com/

This has classes on all kinds of stuff, but Thalassa has her classes here.

And here is the Daughters Of Divination Web Site(Oh and Men can be "Daughters" too!):
http://www.daughtersofdivination.com

Also Here is the SF BATS info page if you wanna know what this is:
http://www.daughtersofdivination.com/sfbats.html

Okay well off to read more in my Tarot For Yourself and see what else is abound.
