So the away mission was successful. We were a hit! And we gigged like you wouldn't believe! We were great. I have never seen us as unified as we were on this trip! Don't get me wrong, we all had issues, that never changes, but we didn't let the outside world see our issues! We had guests in the yard, we had people doing gate guard duty. I even go two girls to serve lunch on Sat. "Welcome to Italy! Are you here to serve or do dishes?" It was amazing. And the people truly wanted to learn about us. They ask questions and wanted to be in gigs, and just were fasinated by the beauty of our encampment.( And it is the same encampment as at any other faire.) It was just amazing. However one thing to remember, when you tell some one "Just go through fair and shout his name. It is small enough, he 'll hear you" beware that it will(and did) happen. I must say it rained like hell on Sunday and Monday and we lost an EZ Up tent, and it made gigging more interesting(Bells in the rain with patrons-GO Heather!) and musket demos look cooler. it was kind of strange, the people still came. We had partons in the yard till an hour after closing (or longer). I was so blown away by it all.
All I can say is BILL Rocks! That is William "Bill" Watters. He helped these peopole go from a Ren themed dinner to a full on fair with Jousters and the Queen in a little under a year. I now believe in THE power of Bill. Amen and Am I lucky to be in this guild. Okay enough...
Work is going well. The first day of school for my students went well. They are going to be a fun little bunch. I do have a crier and a space cadet, but that is pare for the course. And of course the silly ones and the cute ones as well. I am ready for the school year.
And I can't wait til my friend's movie comes out here! It is going to play at the Grand Lake in Oakland. Go Ajmanx! More info to come ....
Okay off to rest and cross stitch. Pray that I get my car tomorrow. I am waiting for it to come back from the repair shop after all this time.
