So I went to my first class for Voice this semster. It was fun meeting all the new students and talking to the teacher and pianist again. They are great. I just felt werid and old as I kept suggesting songs to one of my partners who has been singing since he was 8 years old in choirs and is part of a babrershop group. He didn;t know Scarbourgh Faire, Summertime or Skylark. I asked if he known any Simon and Garfunkel and he just looked at me. Wow! I thought they were pretty well known. He kept suggesting thing I didn't, but I know many standard/popular music that most choirs would do. I guess iwas just feeling out of place. The guy is probably 20, but he's a singer. Oh well I have a job to do. And that's not all. I told a girl she reminded me of Dorothy Parker in her looks and expressions and she said,"WHO?" Help me!!!! She knew who Pablo Neruda was, but not Dottie! I should have asked her if she knew Colette? So she asked me to bring in a book by her. I will. I must share Dorothy with any one and keep her around to all. Hee hee. I know I am really tired and I still havce a classroom to set up and parents to call for home visits! Go me!
