First I am getting ready to go to a friend's for darts and hanging out in Tracy. Then I will be up EARLY to head to Dickens on Sat. I am pretty excited about that. It will be an interesting day. Cross your fingers for me not to get cold ...feet. (more on this later).
So let see this week. I went to babysit on Monday only to find out that I wasn't scheduled to go. So I am getting ready to go when Catherine asks"Wanna go with us? We are going to take the kids to see The Incredibles." Okay cool! We went to dinner at the mexican place across from the theater then off to the movies. It was fun to see this with kids. They loved it and did I. Then it was home to crash for work the next day.
Tuesday went to work, had a good day. Got stuff ready for the Harvest Brunch. made Pumpkin Bread, ever so yummy!
The next day was the brunch which went every well. Almost every family and great food from all the parents. Of course the one funny thing was realizing that when you ask some one to bring a dish to share, I must remember that this is kind of slang for a cooked item. One of my kids brought his plate that he likes to eat off of to share with the class. No I am not kidding. It was so cute! He was like "Teacher Sally, here's my dish. I love it, it has Monsters Inc. on it!" I was not sure why he was showing me the plate until I stopped and was like Oh yeah.. dish! Got it. Well I said he had a great plate, and the mother smiled, but the daughter corrected the situation and told her mom that she knew they had done the wrong thing. I told them, actually it was me and I was sorry that I had forgotten this little bit of slang. It is one I use so often I forgot that. It all worked out in the end. The mom went home and got some great cookies and everyone enjoyed the student's plate. Later that night I went over to Leslie and Andrew's place. We had dinner and watched Elf. I really liked it. I never saw it because I wasn't sure if I would like it. Will Farrell is a funny man, but some days I don't like his style and so I wasn't really sure about seeing it. If I had known it was Directed by John Favero I would have so gone. John Favero is so cool and a hottie too! Dinner for 5 on IFC go check it out if you have it. Any way.. back on topic... Had fun with that and then we started Stepford Wives, but I started nodding off. I was just so tired. I asked if it was okay to head to bed. They were both very sweet and said sure.
The next morning Andrew knocks to make sure I am awake. I wasn't having woken up at 6 am and had tried reading for a bit and fallen asleep. So I got up and had breakfast with Leslie which consisted of eggs and her wonderful Pumpkin Cremebrula(sp). She is so awesome! Then we chatted and I had to get going to get Pax to go to Leslie and Brian's for Thanksgiving. We met up at Bart and head to their new place. It was a fun day/ evening of chatting, hanging out and playing Scattagoties as well as Dictionary with Brian, Leslie, Pax, Nedra and Fitz(who is just a kick in the pants!). Then took Pax home and crashed at his place. Thanks again Pax!
This morning I got up and had a shower then Pax offers to buy me Breakfast. COOL. So we go to the Scramble and Gobble(Is that it?) which was fantastic! I had a West Portal Omelete(salmon, tomamto, dill, cream cheese and capers). We chatted about our experiences of being Army brats and the hole amazement of how Leslie and Fitz went to the same preschool and have know each other for so long. We had friends we each knew for year, but not since we were kids. So then it was off to come home and check email and LJ and watch Gone With The Wind and Meet Me In St. Louis. Love these two. And now I am off to get ready to head over to Heather's to play darts and then go to Dickens in the AM. Yes I am crazy! I know. But I wanna see my friends. What can I say. So Off to pack up all the bits and pieces and head out. Have a great Weekend and if you can come to The Great Dickens Christmas Faire.
