So actually it is the second week on the job, but I am considering it the first as I went to both centers and got to meet with the ladies at Horizon school and the parents at Bess Platt. The women at Horizon are a brave group of young women. I couldn't do what they are doing(having babies when they are so young), but they are doing what they think is right for them. It is really neat to see what they learn and how they are trying to handle being a mom and a kid at the same time. Not that I think young women should have babies etc, but these women are trying to make choices for themselves and go to school and be good mothers. It is amazing to me. I applaud them.
Mind you I am glad we still have Roe V. Wade, but it isn't for everyone. And it is all about Choice! I will never be able to tell some one they can't have an abortion. That is a personal choice. I know this sounds odd to people but the only one that has to answer to a choice is the person looking back at you in the mirror. You can believe it is wrong and against God's will or whatever, BUT no one should be able to tell some one else what they HAVE to do in this sense. You get to choice for yourself. It is a great thing about our country. One should have personal responsibility. SHOULD HAVE is the key in that last statement. Yes, there is gov't assistance and such, but if you choose to keep a baby and need help, it should be there for you and if you choice not to have a baby there should be help for that as well. I know a bunch of people will pull the "It is against God" , but it isn't for some people. You need to understand that. You need to also understand that you can say that, but you don't have to take care of the baby in the middle of the night, you don't have to care for a baby who is ill, you don't have to make sure you have enough money to cover diapers. Yes, use birth control, don't have sex, and all that, but things can happen. Condoms can break, birth control doesn't always work. Being responsible while having sex is great, but in the end it is up to the woman who must make a choice. I would never say to any one "You must do this or that." I don't have to look in the mirror every day and face some one else's choices. I just have to face my own.
Okay well that was a rant in the works.... where did that come from?
Okay.. off to play in a Champions game and not think about issues.
