New Report on Crisis Pregnancy Centers
This week, a congressional report proved that anti-choice "crisis pregnancy centers" have received $30 million of our tax dollars to tell patients that, among other things, suicide, breast cancer, and infertility are much more likely to occur following an abortion.

Thanks to this investigation by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), we know exactly what they're telling women, because female investigators called, saying they were pregnant, and recorded their conversations.

Here is the link to the report.

Senate passes interstate abortion bill By LAURIE KELLMAN, Associated Press Writer
Tue Jul 25, 7:37 PM ET

WASHINGTON - A bill that would make it a crime to take a pregnant girl across state lines for an abortion without her parents' knowledge passed the Senate Tuesday, but vast differences with the House version stood between the measure and President Bush's desk.

Now I have to say I understand this one, BUT I think there are circumstances that really need to be considered here. I mean what about the father that rapes his kid and the grandparetn who helps her get an abortion? What about the abusive parents that beat a kid and the "friend" who takes advantage and then the girl gets pregnant and she knows her parents will not support her and a baby and her parents don't believe in babies out of wedlock? Etc? Nothing is so black and white. I believe parents should know sometimes, but what about these other circumstances? Families should talk about this stuff, but what if they don't? And what if the dad had sex with the daughter and the mom doesn't know? What if the mom doesn't know how to deal with it as he is abusive to her in other ways? There is so many situations that this bill ignores that this law is a bit too "All or Nothing" for me.
