The Bronx is up and the Battery's down!"_ On The Town(I think!)
So today was go to the top of the Empire State Building day! Which took most of the morning! So now it is set up like a ride at Disney(Raiders to be exact!) With lines that form around the block go up stairs and in and around at least one floor! Ever see Sleepless in Seattle where she just runs up to the info desk and asked to go to the top.... Ain't like that any more! Some one realized that they could make a chunk of change on tourists and so they did! (Okay Bitching done now!)...
The View was amazing! You could see all of NYC and it was a lovely sunny morning! Central Park, The Brooklyn, George Washington, and the Verrazano bridges were beautiful to look at! Saw the Statue of Liberty, but will try to get to Liberty Island later. Took the Double Decker Bus Tour all over downtown. It was a little cold(I didn't wear enough layers!) but it was great to see the architecture and the old buildings as well as the "important" buildings. Rockefeller center was being changed from the ice rink to the cafe, Saint Patrick;s looked good(Got to get inside again this visit!) as well as Trump Tower and Tiffany's. Going to try to get to the 'Gonk and do the Walking tour on Sat.(Also found out the Mrs. Parker is coming out on DVD in Sept!Rock on!) And want to try to see a show on Broadway like Wicked or may be Spamalot. (I really want to see Wicked again! We will see!) I enjoyed walking down in Time Square. Next time will try to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge(hopefully this visit, but there is always next time!) And want to try a carriage ride in Central Park, but we will see. Found out that the Plaza Hotel is being made into condos! Well not all of it just half because NYC residents complained! I had dinner there once. It was such a lovely hotel. Also saw the hole in the ground that is Ground Zero. It is startling to see this giant hole in the middle of NYC. Just unbelievable in a way. Also went past the UN and the Intrepid. So much to explore and so little time to do it. Want to see so much and want to sleep as well! This is supposed to be a vacation after all. We will see.
