So this weekend was made of Win and Crying....
It was awesome to be "Home" with Santa Maria. As always it feels good to be around people you love. It is hard some times as I am not as involved any more as I used to be, but there is no where else at fair I can call Home or people I can call Familia. It is terrific to see the guild grow and become a closer family every day.
I will say I was kinda sad that only two ladies made it to the "Dames Tea," But it is SLO fair and well I am lucky that many came. Most people are more Northern groups and don't do SLO and the ones who do are generally using this event to raise money by working and Ale stand or something. Ah well, it was great to see Katheryn Mills and Raven. We chatted about The Marriage Vow as well as Galbraith(sp) not being good at kidnapping. It was nice to see both ladies. And then of course Rellie was hawking beer with her Abbott in a Box(Hi Gregg)!
The best was being able to have LL Knighted! She has worked very hard to improve the guild and make all who are there educated and see why we have sprezitori. I think this is the most any of us have ever cried at a Knighting. But she is the awesome. If you don't know why, you should go to the Italian Embassy sometime and ask for Castellana Dortea. You will see.
The drive home was long but we made it safe. It was odd to be driving and having a snoring Padre in the car again. It just was odd. I have done it before, but now I had a sleeping Paladin as well. It was comforting to know he was there too. =D Love you Drew.
Went to bed late. Had horrible dreams where I woke up because in my dreams some one punched me out. Instant awake Sally Rose. Got moving, was still running a little late. Then the phone rings. It is my mom. She called to let me know my GrandAunt had died last night. *shock* Mind you, I know my Aunt Liz was not well. She was 90+ and in assisted living. I just wasn't expecting it. She will be buried in Albany, NY but she died in Alabama. I think my uncle is taking the trip down and bringing her to be buried by her husband. She has gone down to AL to be with her other family. She had no children. I am going to miss her. She was pretty amazing ahd well she helped raise my incredible Grandma so... there you go...
Okay well I am off to go have dinner with the couple I am working on coordinating their wedding in May and may be I will also get a back rub this evening. Tomorrow is looking at the house we have been told we can have whenever we want to move in.(Keith called, BOYS. He wants to know when we want it! I told him we would tell him tomorrow.)
Have a great evening. And there is this really cute couple who are super photogenic. I love their pictures. Makes me want to go out and get some too. =D

...really? And here we figured St. Maria was tired of the gig...what with loosing so many members for so long n' all ; )
But if you miss it, we can remind y'all again some fair of just how much fun we have kidnapping the contents of your guild yard. You know...as a friendly gesture of inter-guild cooperation...for the betterment of the fair and the entertainment of the visitors ; )
Just let us know,

Date: 2008-07-22 06:57 am (UTC)From:I think for friendly inter-guild cooperation, we should work with things that don't involve 'duping' eachother, but maybe even actually working together (like mercenary employment, etc).

I may even know a photographer who would be inexpensive if not free(well they may require dinner).
And you are well loved.

Date: 2008-07-23 06:33 am (UTC)From:We were discussing how they couldn't keep Katheryn in the guild yard and how she slipped away so easily.
But agaiin if you can make it entertaining and plan ahead wiih the actors, we love a good well planned gig.

Date: 2008-07-23 02:51 pm (UTC)From:As for the rest of it...we will have to agree to disagree. You and I clearly have not only completely different opinions about the function and use of diplomacy, we also have very different information about past gigs and while your attitude and information certainly make for an interesting piece of the puzzle, arguing about what you think you know and what I think I know would be counter productive for both our guilds.
Thus, an end.

Date: 2008-07-23 03:02 pm (UTC)From:We're open to planned gigs with most any guild, so just let us know if you have something in mind. I don't think there are many fairs where our guilds cross paths anymore, though - Fair Oaks, SLO, and...? Given I've missed most of this season, but I can't remember any others right now. It cuts down on the opportunities to work together, but that just means planning in advance.
