So yesterday Drew got me my ring and we talked about what else we wanted for our upcoming day.
Today we rented/put deposit down on the dishes, glassware and center pieces for the wedding. Since we are having it all at the UU in Livermore we need the dishes and such. My sister is cooking and we have to have all the stuff to eat off of and with or it would be off our hands and well that just won't do. Also we picked the colors for the linens, but since we don't know the size of the tables, we can't reserve those. =(
We have been talking about music with Drew's folks and we decided today that we will play "I Wonder What The King Is Doing Tonight" as everyone is seated, then we will switch it to either the overture from Camelot or some thing else when the parents enter. Next will be something for Stacey to enter to, then we will enter to "Let My Love Open The Door" by Pete Townsend from the Grosse Point Blank soundtrack as it is a pretty mix. After that... we are still working on it.
We have a bunch of music we want to play at the reception but still haven't settled on the first dance yet. Yes we will play "Mrs. Robinson" as there will be 3 of us(Drew's Grandma, His Mom and ME!) and I was thinking of seeing if there is a mix out there of the Simon and Garfunkel and the Lemonheads mashed together. We shall see...if any of you know, let me know.
Tomorrow we meet with the Cake Lady and also with my friend who knows flowers. Everything will be SUPER simple. I don't want too much but just elegant-ish(Well my center pieces are glass bowls with either red glass balls or cranberries, water and floating bride and groom duckies on a round mirror. Fun rather than elegant but very us.) We just need to make sure of the size of the tables and how many there are and sit down with the photographer and we will be practically done! I am excited and overwhelmed all at the same time.
Okay.. well off to see a movie with Sami. Have a fab rest of your Thanksgiving weekend!
