I had an amazing Broadway Day yesterday! I am visiting my family for my B-day and got tickets to Wicked. Then My dad says we should try to see another show as well on Wed. SO he suggested Aida.
Both were awesome and the singing was phanominal! I was over whelmed by the emotions in Aida. Will Chase was over powering. Saycon Sengbloh was playing Aida and she had me in tears! Mandy Gonzalez was terrific as Amneris. She was so funny and sweet and shallow!(as Amneris seemed to be!) It was wonderful!
Wicked... hmmm.. Well Idina Menzel blew me away with her voice! Kristin Chenoweth was funny and just had me in stitches. I read the book and never really got the feeling Galinda was quite so superficial, but the book was more about Elphaba and her life verses the play which was more Glinda and Elphaba. I was a little confused at times as I had read the book, but the musical was terrific in it's own right.
I would say if you can go see them both!
