Tarot Class Is cool!

So Last night was my tarot "class" with Douglas, Kathy and Denise. We got to chat a bit and look over our book Tarot For Yourself. We talked about the life chart and how you can plot the cards that effect your year and what cycle you are on, etc. Kathy was having trouble figuring it out, but she was using two different ways of using the charts. Denise, who was new to the group, was a kick in the pants. She didn't know if she like the rolling dice to figure out cards method Douglas and I learned at BATS, but she got "cards" that pertained to her current life situation. Funny stuff. I had Douglas read for me and as I thought it was pretty accurate. Not as dead on as last time, but this sounded more like a reading about work so it is still vague for me.

We are having a blast with it and we are planning on going to the Tarot Tea in Sept. and Kathy and Denise are planning to go to The Thalassa Land Method Of Tarot class in Sept at Ancient Ways. Douglas and I went in March and then to BATS in April, hence our starting this class. Thalassa is a kick. She just is. If you want to know about the Tarot she is a great resource. She has been working with the tarot for 20+ years and she is open to many people's ideas about what the cards could be saying. She Doesn't HAVE to be the only one right, which is great.

Who knew that a comic from my childhood could be so popular even now. It has been around for longer than that, but it is still popular! Who reads it? Do you? I haven't in ages.

The cult of youth is shallow, fallow and foolish, favoring form over substance. And, frankly, the form ain't all that impressive. I will grant that some of those young tight and pretty people paraded before us are, in fact, tight and pretty. But they're cotton candy. Their looks leave no impression and evaporate at the first taste. Lord knows I can never remember the name of Hollywood's bimbette or boy-toy of the month.

I look in the mirror and I see lines in the corners of my eyes, grey hairs in my beard. I like it. It looks, though I say it myself, damned good on me. I'm definitely better looking than I was five years ago.

Don't sit there and try to tell me that men age more gracefully than women, either. I don't buy it. A woman cannot know true beauty until she has seen her 35th birthday. And some not until 40 or older. It's in the eyes. They acquire a wisdom and depth that can only be earned over time.

That wisdom, that experience, cannot be over-emphasized. It allows us, as a wise and beautiful woman once told me, to be more comfortable in our own skins. More than that, though, it enables us to truly appreciate what we have, what we want and what we need.

And that, my friends, is sexy.

My friends, I have to agree. I am more confident, happier, and just simply sexier than I was at 20. I know some of you are younger than me, but you will see. This man is right. As we get older, we see more of our own values and trust ourselves more. All my experiences have brought me here and I like me.
I can say it again, I have the best life!
