"No Patrick you can't do 3 events!" ~Over heard on the fair radios Saturday Morning at Calaveras Celtic faire.

Well for the 20th Anniversary of this faire we got snow! And not just a little snow that was pretty but 6"-8" inches of snow! It was very cool and very crappy at the same time.

I went up Thursday so I could help with the Children's day activities. So Jeebus and I drove up with Perry following in his van. We got to site and it was raining but cold. So we all chat and hang out. Then Rellie offers us space in her trailer to crash as it was super cold.

Woke up Friday to help set up the Pill and such, but it was pouring rain. We were told that for children's day we were doing a gun/arms demo. I thought I wasn't needed so I offered to help the Check In Team. I went and got propane and went back to site. I set up the check in tent and began working with Rellie. We got every thing set and ready. People came in to the site and it seemed very calm and a regular faire. Then it began to rain harder. Then Hail! Then snow! It snowed and stuck! By the time I left check in it was a light dusting. However when I woke up the next morning, I see al this white! I felt like I was back in Germany and it was winter. I loved it except I wasn't prepared for the snow. I didn't have the proper footwear or a good heavy coat! So it was me in my Viva Santa Maria sweatshirt, jeans, two pairs of socks, bloomer under the jeans, and two shirts! I was still huddled around a heater, but it wasn't too bad. We were not sure the faire was going to happen. But it did! I went back to bed as I was sneezing and coughing. I got off shift and went back to bed. Thank you Rellie! I slept for a bit and watched the 4th Harry Potter. Then later I climbed out of the warmth and wandered around te fair. There was Mud and snow everywhere. However, the Patrons were paying to get in and have a blast with the Wicked Tinkers and Tempest! I was amazed.
Sat night I went to dinner with Perry, Heather, Erica and Drew. We went to Rod's whic was okay. Then it was back to site and I was off to sleep as I had a 6:30 shift to cover and if the weather was any indication, I was going to be cold! So I slept and woke up early and again more snow. Then as the day continued drama happened and then my lovely guild members movedthe pill into the warm 4H building to dry out. Then the fairies put away the pill in boxes and every one was ready to pack Perry's Vaand go home. I drove home and had a warm dinner and a nice hot shower. It was a nice ending to a crazy weekend.

So, uh, what happened to my bog dress? I was half an hour down the road before I remembered that I didn't have it with me.

It's highly unlikely that I'll be at the meeting, especially if it's as far away as Richmond. :\ Work has be practically chained to the machine - it was part of the hiring agreement that I'd work the two weekendss right before the show opens, not because they're mean, but because we've got tons to do still.
