Today's Card: Eight of Swords

In this card we see a woman in peril, bound and blindfolded she is
surrounded by sure and immenent danger with those eight swords
looming.... or is she?

Upon closer examination we see that her legs are free, she can
choose to walk away and free herself. So it is in life, often we feel
victims to hard circumstances, or we feel powerless to effect
change. We focus so much on the blindfold and swords we forget our
legs.

This card serves as a reminder that no matter how difficult our
circumstances, we always have inner strength and power to deal with
them. Don't give your power away to outer circumstances or you risk
remaining imprisoned/held to lower standards.

Today is a good day to search for clarity. Use your power to walk
away from circumstances that are not serving your growth, and focus
on personal power, not lack and limitation. Ask yourself " What can
I do according to the circumstances I find myself in?" then take
steps towards betterment.

This card speaks of the choice between being a victim or being
empowered. We cannot control the external situations represented by
the swords, but we can choose the path we take despite them.

Hence I don't dwell on the tragedy of yesterday until some one reminds me. Then I can't help but recall it. I then feel it for a bit and remember the man I lost and know that because of it I am who I am today. I can't let it hold me back from going on with my life, but I will never completely forget. I just won't let that pain enfold me and stop me from living. I am still here for a reason. Now what that reason is I am not certain, but I will live until I find out.
