The problem I had with this article is that the author had valid points, but it was a different time and it was how we all wanted things to be (well except for PNP.. I wanted Duckie, but he was her best friend, so being a teen she might not have seen his awesomeness.)
The comments are worth reading and will make you laugh.

Date: 2008-08-26 11:30 pm (UTC)From:Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink have been my two favorite movies for about ever...and not, I watched BC with ro when it was on and as we watched it had a few misgivings over her seeing it. I was older than 12 when it came out, but not much. 14? And yeah, 16 candles has a lot of comic messed-upedness. "Mom, why would he want her underwear!!??" Yeah, that was an amusing conversation. She got bored with 16 C and wandered off. John Hughes movies (except FBDO) are related in her brain about par with Duran Duran and Aqua Net (as in "Mom, what were you thinking???)
But I still get all melty when they come on. I will always love them.
