So seriously,

This week was going fair to midland. Then Mom reminded me that Grams was getting a pace maker. So Called her to make sure She(Grams ) was good after and she knew I love her. The conversation made me crazy a little as she was my rock in my crazy childhood. I spend many a summer with her and Grandpa in Niagara Falls. She taught me to ride my bike and love being her "Indian Princess" and took me to Native American outings and such even though I think I am more Native American than she is. Hmm that may be why she took me... any who....

Had a lovely evening with the Ladies and saw the beautiful work of Daze of Laure on the wedding corset(Beautiful!). Chatted and held cute baby and then headed home to prep for Thursday's wedding.

Well, first there was not script for said wedding in the officiant binder. No big just called up my boss and headed out to her place on my way into the City . HOWEVER, when I got to her place, she was on the phone with Florida discussing the fact that they couple needed to go to City Hall and get a marriage license and the notary were not going to be there. The notary let Florida know that she had let her license laps and was not doing notaries any more in SF. She let them know at 1130 pm PST on Wed. They had originally sent her notice of this wedding on 8/8/08! So I pick up the script and head to SF. ON the way there, my car smells like rotting eggs. Odd, but I don't drive it as often as I used to with commuting in the Oakland with Drew so something being smelly could be old junk or some thing outside of my car. Could be the Bay for all I can tell. While driving in a get a call to meet the couple at City Hall in SF as they don't want to go in alone not being from SF, could I meet them there. Sure I can.

It is 10 am and I am holding up a sign for the couple to see which has their last names on it so they realize I am the person they are waiting to meet. Now mind you I have two other coordinators wait for me at the Pier to give them their lists and stuff for this wedding. So I call and let them know what is going on and if any guest get there before us(Me the bride and groom) just get them seated and keep them together. And I am calling Florida and trying to make sure things will work out and the couple is on their way. They finally show up to City Hall at 1050. We go in and they get told they can't get a license today. They have to make an appointment and come back on Sept 11(first available appointment!). Bride freaks! Groom is PO'ed. I am frustrated as this could have been avoided if Florida has called the Notary sooner than the day before the wedding. The Bride is on the phone with Florida near tears, but can't cry as she will ruin the make job she had just paid to have done. The Groom is grumbling about all the money they paid and Florida is trying to ask who they can call to fix this. Finally I go back into City Hall and speak to a different Clerk and tell her about the screw up with the Notary whom she know her name(Yeah she rolled her eyes upon the mention of the Notary's name) and says she has a cancellation. It will be $93.00 but she can squeeze them in as they are getting married elsewhere. So I go get the couple and have them fill out paperwork and I pay the 93.00 so they don't have to pay MORE money for this "fabulous" wedding on their cruise ship.

We then head out the door to our separate cars and I say I will meet them at the Pier. They go to their car, I go to mine and ... my car won't start! Yep... and the couple has already left. So I call my boss and the Pier side coordinators and let them know I am on my way but having car issues. I call a cab and leave a note in my window HOPING I will still have a car when i return after the wedding. Cab comes and we rush to the Pier! Couple is just showing up. Their guests are already on the ship and we get them on ship with her parents(Yeah her parents where also in the car!) and we get them up to their stateroom to dress and get this wedding going.
I find the Guests all sitting having water which they had to pay for themselves, in the small Bar. I don't realize that it is NOT the place the couple is actually getting married at as I was still carrying all the extra stuff the couple needed for the ceremony, ie the Unity Candle and small candles to light it as well as pretty holders and favors! The Bride Coordinator takes off with the couple to keep them on schedule, Bless her! and I and the other Guest Coordinator check on the set up and to see if the Officiant had everything he needed. Oh yes they had their own Officiant, but Florida forgot to tell us. AND BTW, he needs a big glass/cup and crackers as the couple is going to have communion during the ceremony! But He did bring his own grape juice so that was covered!
We find out that we are in the wrong room so we move to the correct room and the ship's Wedding Coordinator comes and asks if everything is ready as we are running late... Ah.. well no. The Officiant is not happy with the placement of the table/alter and it needs to be moved. Also what music is there as there need to be music while they light the Unity Candle. I had him the CD and track lists and say "Pick something," but much nicer. He does and my Guest Coordinator makes it so even though he is worried that the Sound Guy might not get it. Oh well. So now it is 130, we are half an hour behind(ONLY!) and I have not seen the Couple or my Bridal Coordinator. I call and she calls back with Sending down the Groom and the Bride will follow!" Great! Only the Bride come down 15 minutes later. She walks down the aisle at 1:55 pm! They do it the thing and the stuff and it is lovely and then we head down to the reception which was supposed to start at 1:30! The ship Staff is pacing but understand. (Side note: Princess Cruise Lines have amazing Staff! If you can choose, go with them!) So we get everyone down stairs and the Officiant hold food service so he can bless the meal...Their first breaking of bread together, etc. They he says" Okay close your eyes and join me in Prayer... Rub-a-dub-dub. Thanks for the Grub. In Jesus Name, Amen!" I kid you not! Everyone blinks and then eats. Just after the food gets started I let the couple know they should cut the cake before really eating so the photographer can snap pics and the food staff can serve the cake at the appropriate time. I tell them this 3-4 times. "Just a sec.." "We will.. oh but here is the lunch.." so I sit down and enjoy a lovely lunch of Shrimp Cocktail, Salmon and veggies and Chocolate Souffle and a sweet cream sauce to die for. The wait staff joked about the amount of calories in each spoonful as they put it on the Chocolate goodness! Of course by the time they finished eating and chatting with guests there was no time for the couple to cut the cake and share it with family. BUT I told them this could happen...

So at 3:30 we get the last of the non sailing guests off the ship and I call a cab company to get back to City Hall. It took them 45 minutes to get me. I was not happy when I was told it would be 10 minutes. Two phone calls later, a cab comes. The driver takes me to City Hall and gets pulled over as I am being dropped at my car as he kinda U-Turned on the Yellow/Red light. They didn't give him a Ticket thank goodness and I still had my car and I didn't get a ticket either! I get in my super hot car and it doesn't start.
I freak and call my boss and my Man. He suggests I call my sister to see if she can reach me sooner as she works and such in SF. I call and she calls back. She works until 5:30, but after she could come by. Okay... So I call the Man and tell him the 411 and that I will see him as soon as he gets to SF. I chat with Lil' Bear as he keep me company as he has hear from the Man that things are fubared. As we are getting ready to end our conversation the phone dies. At first I think I hit the wrong button or the Bear had hung up. BUT No... Phone has died. And that is when I realize... wait.. don't I have Roadside assistance from my insurance? Well I do.. but no way to call. =( So I wait for either The Man or the Sister to show up even though they can't contact me. Just as I am getting ready to say "F*** it I will taxi to Blowfish and use that phone", The Man arrives and lets me know he has been trying to call. Then the tale of the dead car and dead phone get told . He hands me his phone. I call and get service sent over to me, but we go to Blowfish to use the restrooms as we have 45 minutes to wait.(It is 6:55 at this point. ) We get back and the service person comes in an unmarked car and jumps it with a jumper BOX(?) and we head back to Livermore. I ask for Sushi before we have gotten in to our cars so we head to Sushi Ya after dropping off my car.

Today we turned in my keys and got told that is sounds like a battery problem, but they can't look at it until Monday. Okay... well lets hope I get it back sooner than the last time which was about a month. And they know me by name at my Auto place. Yeah?
And tomorrow we help Sarah and Ed return from Fairfield! YAY!!!!
