Last night I went with Binky_binky and saw New Kids On The Block. She won tickets and we went. I was so surprised that they still had all the moves they were known for and were quite good. The show was entertaining and I had fun. I even knew most if not all the songs... I had a sister who LOVED them as well as a friend in college who was obsessed with them.
Tonight was my 20th High School Reunion sort of. The actual dinner thing got canceled as not enough people responded to the formal invite so one of the local guys organized for people to come to Luka's in Oakland. the event started at 7 pm, but we got there at 745. We had some appetizers and drinks, but I only saw a few people I knew. Most of the people who came were people I knew in passing(we had 500 in our graduating class) and all the people I had hoped would come were out of state or just not coming like my "brother" Jimmy. I left around 945 which was okay. Most of the people I wanted to see I still do and the ones I saw tonight, we caught up on facebook the last few weeks. The funny thing is I got a call around 11 pm from my first Boyfriend in High school. He said "You didn't go to the reunion, did you?" and it was loud in the background of his call. I told him I had and he sounded surprised. I asked where he was or was he finally there. He said no, he was at his new girlfriend's high school reunion! I had to laugh. I did see a bunch of people I didn't know very well and it was cool. Probably should have stayed longer, but the people who were super close to me in High school, still are friends even now. I suppose if we had a smaller class it would have been easier. Ah well it was cool.
And there is a wedding coming up in Dec for me. So no full run of Dickens for me. I will go at least a day or two. Too much to do between now and then though. I am kinda bummed about that, but it will be there next year too.
So we have invitation on there way from the printer. WOOT! I have my dress and my mom's dress. We are wearing Saris. Why? I wanted a red dress that was unique and well I had this gut reaction to wear one. It just felt right. We have a place and a caterer. We have a photographer. We have a baker lined up. We have an officiant. We have our families coming. Drew's mom wants to host a rehearsal dinner which is great. We still have no idea what ring he wants and we don't know about flowers yet. I want simple decorations. We are paying for this so we need to think what we need verses what we want and they are currently very much the same things. Tomorrow we do the actual guest list and then by Friday mail out the invites. This is really kind of happening.
Okay so may be I can sleep. I don't know why I am up. I have too much to do tomorrow/today. Ah well.
