I am at a conference in Anaheim and had a structural racism training today.  Way to much to say here only that I know I am privilaged, just didn't realized how much it is in the stuture of the country.(I see the world with rose colored glasses I know!)

 

Thank you to all of you who have given me your words of encouragement.  I needed it.

There is drama, no I am not sharing it here(And at $.49 a minute I can't even if I wanted too!)

Thank you for being yourselves and my friends.

There was a study done of California baby names over 30 years. The researches found that there were certain names which were, in fact, almost always attached to white kids, and some to black kids. The researchers then created a resume, attached a "black" name to one copy, a "white" name to another copy, and sent 'em out...

The "white" names got a much higher rate of calls for interviews. I'd bet that none of the managers who rejected the "black" names while accepting the "white" ones would call themselves, or even believe themselves, racist...
