So Christmas was well spent. The mate and I went to his folks and had a nice break from our own lives to hang and visit and get gifts. I received some great clothes as well as Cabaret DVD, The Wizard Of Oz DVD, Mirror, Mirror the book, The 1940's movie book, West Side Story DVD and a GWTW Pictorial Book. I got some other things as well but am not going to list everything. Also saw ROTK as is the tradition and enjoyed it but was disappointed at the scene when Eowyn(sp) kills the Witch King, as I always thought of it as this big scene of her riding out and saying "I am no man, I am a woman!" and killing it much more dramatically. Oh well...
New Year's Eve was a mass of silliness. I had fun with Shawn and then went to Les and Brian's to get ready to go to Grayhaven. Grayhaven is the home of a fantasy write and a founding member of the SCA as well as an acquaintance's mom( I learned that that evening. Very Small world feeling). I also saw Geoffery!!!!!!!!! It was so cool to see him. I really was glad to get to see him before P-Con and he was so sweet. Had a great chat with Kirk about Germany and fun was had by all.
The next day, Jen, Booda, Shawn, Les, Brian, Kirk, Nedra, Rheia, Tanya and myself went to Ole's in Alameda. Great food, decent service and then it was off to hang for a bit.
Went to Jackson Rancheria on Sat. and saw Dave Russell and his band. They were terrific. The only thing I will do differently next time is get a room verses driving home at 2 AM. It is not safe and I was tired. Oh and remember the Largest Jackpot at jackson Rancheria is Friendship! (is that sappy or what!?!)
Then on Sunday went to Alameda for the Antiques Fair and then to see Wizard of Oz and War Of the Worlds on the big screen. Loved Wiz. and War was very odd. Cool special effects for the time but sappy story in the end. Well then it was having Little Sister call at 1:30 in the AM to ask me a Duran Duran Trivia Question. Why you might ask, because she thinks (and is correct)that I am the biggest Duran Duran fan she knows. I did know the answer but I was so tired I don't know if she got whatever she needed for it. UGH!!!!! Okay so I am gearing up for the new Ren. Season and I get my new dress from Altaira in April and the guild is going well and now I need to hit the road so I can get on with the evening...
